Dedicated to the memory of Nettie Hogarth

This site is a tribute to Nettie Hogarth.  A much loved mother, sister, sister-in-law, granny and great-granny.

The second of 5 children to Agnes and George Cassie, Nettie was born in the parish of Sprouston in 1925 but raised in Kelso. From there she led a well-travelled and interesting life.

Her husband Jock was a senior Police Officer stationed for over 8 years in Malaya then Doha/Dubai in the middle east. She had 4 children during this time returning to live in Kelso in the sixties when schooling became a critical need. She was Kelso Golf Club Ladies Captain and Captain of the Border Ladies Golf Team, a period which she enjoyed immensely, spending time playing courses throughout the Borders and Lothians with her friends.

She was a particularly caring and protective mother who adored family and all its roles. She was emotionally and physically tough right to the end and was always someone who could be relied upon to offer objective advice. Indeed, her life story was one which she tended to keep to herself preferring instead to hear your news which was always of interest to her.

She was an amazing woman and we remember her fondly.
